Robbery Thwarted: Police Arrest Suspect and Recover Stolen Goods

On the afternoon of Thursday, the mobile squad's hawks, during a service to combat predatory crimes, following a note received at the local operations room, intervened in Corso Garibaldi due to the report of a robbery against a woman. The police officers, who promptly intervened, were approached by a woman who told them that, just before, while she was on the sidewalk on Corso Umberto, she had been approached by a man on a scooter who, after snatching the phone from her hands, made her fall to the ground, and then fled towards Corso Garibaldi. Indeed, the operators, thanks to the descriptions provided by the victim and the collaboration of some passers-by, tracked down and stopped after a short chase, the fugitive in Corso Garibaldi, finding him still in possession of the phone stolen shortly before, also ascertaining that the scooter used by the suspect had been stolen that morning. Therefore, the suspect, identified as a 22-year-old from Naples with a criminal record, including specific offenses, was arrested for aggravated robbery, personal injury, and resistance to a public official, and was also reported for receiving stolen goods. Finally, the cellphone and the scooter were returned to their rightful owners.
