Roberto Andò Reappointed as Artistic Director of Naples National Theatre for 2025-2029

In the session of the Board of Directors of the Naples Theatre-National Theatre presided by Luciano Cannito, the unanimous reappointment of Roberto Andò as artistic director for the five-year period 2025 - 2029 was decided. The entire Board of Directors - composed of the president Luciano Cannito, for the Ministry of Culture by Emilio Di Marzio, for the Campania Region by Evelina Christillin and Roberto D'Avascio for the Municipality of Naples, by Stefania Brancaccio for the Metropolitan City, showed cohesion and unity in the important decision of reconfirming the outgoing director Roberto Andò. "The Naples Theatre-National Theatre," says Cannito, "today reaffirms itself as one of the most virtuous theatres in Italy from an administrative, managerial, and artistic point of view and continues its path in the groove of unanimity, general harmony, and project started authoritatively by Roberto Andò in 2019." In a note released by the theatre, it is added that in today's session the members of the Board of Directors invite director Roberto Andò to restore the organ of the Artistic Committee present in the Theatre's Statute, in order to strengthen the dialogue with personalities from the theatrical and cultural world of the territory. Among these, the presence of Geppy Geijeses, strongly supported by Di Marzio, seems taken for granted. "I am very grateful to the Board of Directors that unanimously renewed my directorship of the National Theatre and happy to continue the work started in one of the most important theatres in Italy, a place where all the extraordinary culture and sensitivity of Naples and its people converge," commented Andò.
