Roccapiemonte Commemorates COVID-19 Victims with Memorial Plaque

On the occasion of the National Day in memory of the victims of Covid-19, which is celebrated on Monday, March 18, 2024, the mayor of Roccapiemonte, Carmine Pagano, informs the citizens that, in one of the flowerbeds of Piazza Zanardelli, at 12 o'clock, a commemorative plaque will be placed to remember the six citizens of Roccapiemonte and the many people around the world who lost their lives due to the virus. The plaque will be visible both day and night, thanks to special lighting, so that the memory of the victims of the cursed Covid-19 never fades. Fortunately, by enforcing the rules imposed during the epidemic and subsequently the pandemic, thanks to the collaboration of volunteer associations, and also to an effective and constant communication activity to the population, Roccapiemonte was one of the towns least affected by the Covid-19 tragedy. Yet, we had to mourn the loss of six of our fellow citizens and others fell ill and had to go through very tough times, isolated and far from their loved ones. To those who are no longer with us, who did not manage to defeat the virus, this plaque is dedicated, placed next to an olive tree, a symbol of peace and regeneration," says Pagano.
