Salerno Literature for Young Readers starts in preview. Monday, April 8, at 9 AM, at the temporary location of Duna di Sale in Piazza Matteotti 2, the Summer School 2024 will be presented, which, as per tradition, will be held during the festival, from Monday, June 17, to Friday, June 21, and the Read Aloud Workshop, which will start already from the next April 17.

Every year, the Children's Program of the Salerno Literature festival offers students aged 16 to 18 a 5-day Summer School structured in training workshops on the creative and professional use of words, through multimedia experimentation, storytelling through images, critical analysis of prose and poetry texts. Both paths will feature exceptional guests including Pierre Adrian, A.K. Blakemore and Rafaela Edelbauer, finalists of the Salerno Book of Europe Award, and Cristiana Castellotti, Rai journalist, Lea Durante, literary critic, and Gabriele Simonelli, journalist and writer. The creative writing course also collaborates with the DipSum of Unisa including the doctors Oriana Bellissimo and Anna De Rosa, while for the cultural journalism course, the journalist Rosita Sosto Archimio.

The intensive read-aloud workshop, led by Brunella Caputo, actress, theater director, and writer, is aimed at all students aged 16 to 25 who want to engage in reading, learn elements of diction, breathing, text comprehension, ability to present in public, to increase the attention of the listeners. The basic course consists of eight lessons (one lesson per week), starting on April 17, from 4 to 6 PM, at the temporary location of Duna di Sale in Piazza Matteotti 2. The course is also aimed at training volunteer readers for readings during the festival.
