San Carlo Celebrates World Theatre Day with 'Carmen Rap' Performances

The San Carlo celebrates World Theatre Day at the Officine San Carlo: for the occasion, scheduled in Vigliena today and tomorrow evening are two new performances of 'Carmen rap', a reworking of Bizet's work, which combines opera, prose, and rap in a novel mix of genres, transferring the action to the present day and to Castel Volturno for a story that continues to speak about femicide. The initiative will be attended by the mayor and president of the Foundation Gaetano Manfredi, the prefect Michele di Bari, the extraordinary commissioner for Caivano Fabio Ciciliano. Music and rap lyrics by Luca Caiazzo, known as Lucariello, the dramaturgy is by Federico Vacalebre, directed by Michele Sorrentino Mangini. On stage, with the professors of the San Carlo orchestra and young people trained at the Officine del San Carlo: Xana Vazquez de Prada, Alessio Sica, Vincenzo Bove, Oyoshe, Chiara di Girolamo, Noemi Gherrero, Lorenzo Vacalebre and Marco Antonio Vincenzo Ferrante. The project sees the collaboration of the Foundation Una Nessuna Centomila.
