San Pio Hospital in Benevento Joins the Pink Ribbon Initiative for Women with Multiple Sclerosis

The San Pio hospital in Benevento is participating in the initiative that involves hospitals with the "Pink Ribbon from the Onda Foundation", on the occasion of the first day of the world week dedicated to the brain, by organizing the "(H) Open day" dedicated to women with multiple sclerosis, scheduled for March 13 in over 125 hospitals of the "Pink Ribbon" network. The initiative aims to inform and raise awareness among patients, caregivers, and the population about multiple sclerosis and, in particular, about the related cognitive disorders. Chronic, unpredictable, and often disabling, multiple sclerosis is a serious chronic disease of the central nervous system. It affects young people between the ages of 20 and 40, and women, in the prime of their life. Free visits are planned at the clinics of the "Rummo" pavilion located at the "Rummo" hospital complex of the city, from 9 am to 2 pm. The neurological consultations will be carried out with the specialist team, which belongs to the complex operational unit of neurology, directed by Dr. Marco Sparaco. It will be possible to book from March 5 by calling the telephone number 0824/57208 from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm. "We share the initiative of the Onda Foundation," explains the general director Maria Morgante, "in order to inform and raise awareness among patients, caregivers, and the general public about multiple sclerosis and the cognitive disorders related to it, aware of the fundamental role played by the doctors of the San Pio company, who deal with this pathology for the correct approach and consequently for the better quality of life of the patients."
