Santa Sofia Academy Announces Students for Pino Daniele Tribute Concert

The Santa Sofia Academy has officially announced the names of the students who will take the stage at the San Marco Theater, on April 10th at 10 am, for the tribute concert to Pino Daniele "Yes I know…my way," intended for the schools of Benevento and its province. Thus begins the final phase of a long journey dedicated to the music of Pino Daniele, started in October 2023 in high schools thanks to the project "Pino Daniele – Among notes, emotions, and passions." A substantial workshop course, promoted thanks to the active contribution of the principals Domenica di Sorbo, Gabriella Zoschg, and Maria Buonaguro, with the coordination of Marialuisa Russo, which involved hundreds of students, with preparatory meetings, concert-lessons, preselection sessions, and final auditions, conducted by experts on the artistic production of Pino Daniele. The project aims to honor the figure of Pino Daniele and to promote his human, cultural, and musical legacy. Students actively participated in formative experiences that allowed them to engage and compete for the final deserved prize, that is to live the experience of a real audition, to win participation in the show on April 10th, confronting themselves on stage with professional artists. For the musical part, the Umberto Aucone Ensemble and Friends, with Umberto Aucone on sax, Sally Cangiano on guitar and vocals, Enzo Del Basso on percussion, Pino Mazzarano on guitar, Pasquale Riccio on drums, and Michele Visconte on electric bass. The texts and narration will instead be handled by the actress Monica Carbini. For the solo singing section, Irene Carfora (Fermi institute of Montesarchio) and Carlotta Pinto (Guacci institute of Benevento) will be on stage: for acting, Anuarite Bisarco (Guacci) and Simone Pucillo (Ipsar Le Streghe Benevento) have been selected.
