A catering activity, involved in the management of school canteens, has been suspended for employing undeclared labor. In a joint operation conducted by the Carabinieri of the Labor Inspectorate Unit of Avellino and the Nas of Salerno, a catering and meal packaging activity that provides food to schools in the province of Avellino was inspected.
The main objective of the operation was to combat undeclared work and to verify compliance with regulations on safety in the workplace and health. Due to the irregularities found, the legal representative of the company was reported in a state of freedom to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Avellino. Furthermore, one of the eight workers checked was found to be not regularly employed.
As a result of the checks, administrative penalties for more than 6,000 euros were imposed and prescriptions concerning work, regarding the lack of medical fitness examinations, the lack of worker training, for a total amount of about 19,000 euros. The business activity was suspended for employing undeclared labor. Such controls will also continue in the coming days throughout the province.
