Carabinieri controls in Ischia: the focus of the inspections are the commercial ports, the main roads, and the nightlife spots during the festivities. A total of 408 people were identified and 156 vehicles including cars, motorcycles, and scooters were checked, resulting in 22 penalties for traffic violations.
During the checks, the military reported a 19-year-old from Naples for illegal possession of weapons after he was found with a switchblade knife upon disembarking ferries at the commercial port of Ischia; the weapon was hidden in the sole of his right shoe and was seized. The young man will be subjected to a mandatory expulsion order from the municipalities of the island of Ischia.
An 18-year-old from Forio, with no criminal record, was also reported during the checks on hydrofoil disembarkations at the commercial port of Casamicciola Terme, after he was caught with an electric bicycle reported stolen last February 3rd; the E-bike was returned to its rightful owner.
Four tourists were reported to the prefecture for being found in possession of small amounts of drugs.
