Security Operations in Naples Nightlife Areas Lead to Suspensions and Controls

On Saturday, as part of the services organized by the Naples police department in the nightlife areas, officers from the Decumani, Chiaiano, San Carlo-Arena, Dante police stations, the anti-crime division, the public order unit of the cabinet office, and the finance police, with the support of the mobile unit of Naples, conducted checks in the historic center. During the operation, the officers identified 150 people and inspected 10 commercial establishments. Furthermore, during the activity, the Police Commissioner of Naples, upon the suggestion of the Decumani police station, ordered the suspension for 15 days of the public food and beverage service and the neighborhood exercise activities of two establishments in the historic center. In particular, the officers ascertained, also through the acquisition of video from the surveillance systems present, that in October 2023, outside the aforementioned establishments, following a quarrel sparked by trivial reasons, the owner of a commercial establishment and the husband of the owner of the other activity had fired shots with freely sold weapons and, for this reason, had been reported for dangerous throwing of objects. Moreover, in 2020 and 2022, the Police Commissioner of Naples had already ordered two suspensions of the licenses for one of the commercial activities. These measures are therefore aimed at averting a concrete danger to public order and the safety of citizens.
