The Carabinieri of Torre del Greco have seized an apartment linked to a prominent member of the Camorra federation Papale of Ercolano.
The house - which is located in the stronghold of the clan, specifically in the locality "for 'o pont" of Ercolano - is now under the management of a judicial administrator. The seizure order - issued by the Court of Naples at the request of the DDA - stems from asset investigations which revealed that the house was fictitiously registered in the name of the recipient's daughter.
The apartment was purchased in the early 2000s, for several tens of millions of lire. The seizure is part of a broader context of investigations carried out by the Operational Section of the Torre del Greco Company and the DDA which have led, in the last three lustrums, to the partial disarticulation of the Ascione-Papale and Birra-Iacomino clans historically in opposition to each other for the monopoly in the management of illicit trafficking in the Municipality of Ercolano.
