The serial supermarket thief in Irpinia has been caught. Thanks to meticulous investigative work, the Carabinieri of the Mirabella Eclano Station were able to trace the identity of a 35-year-old man, believed to be responsible for at least three thefts committed in as many supermarkets in the province, during which he looted high-end goods, probably intended for a parallel market.
The man has been reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office in Benevento. During the evening and night hours, controls were concentrated, through uninterrupted surveillance, especially in the municipalities of Mirabella Eclano, Sturno and Montemiletto.
In this last center, four patrols converged last night after a burglary occurred in a rural area.
The presence of the crews allowed to prevent further criminal actions. During the inspections, the specialized personnel were able to identify and highlight some prints that could allow to trace the authors of the crimes.
