A sit-in to say no to the hypothesis of returning confiscated assets to the Pellini brothers, who were definitively convicted of environmental disaster in recent years. It will be held tomorrow at 9:30 am in Piazza Duomo in Acerra, by the environmentalist associations of the Land of Fires.
This was announced by the historic activist of Acerra, Alessandro Cannavacciuolo, stating that representatives of various environmental realities and environmental doctors will participate in the demonstration. «Tomorrow - Cannavacciuolo explained - we will be in Piazza Duomo to express our concern in view of the March 25 hearing at the Cassation, regarding the possible return due to the expiry of the terms of the entire patrimony of over 220 million euros confiscated from those convicted of aggravated environmental disaster».
On March 25, in fact, the Court of Cassation should pronounce on the effectiveness of the decision of the Naples Court of Appeal, which at the end of June had filed the measure that confirmed the confiscation, but late with respect to the terms. A circumstance that had been contested by the lawyers of the Pellini brothers, who had therefore filed an appeal for Cassation asking the Court to declare the illegitimacy of the measure.
