Social Media Intimidation Against Witness in Francesco Pio Maimone Murder Trial in Naples

Intimidations via social media against one of the witnesses in the ongoing trial in Naples on the murder of Francesco Pio Maimone, the 18-year-old aspiring pizza maker murdered without reason, on the night between March 19 and 20, 2023, while he was with some friends on the Naples seafront. This time, the target of the invectives is Francesco Pio Maimone's friend, the one who was in his company when he was hit by a stray bullet in front of the Mergellina chalet. The boy is receiving several intimidating messages and is forced to endure insults on social media like 'I have to beat you every day...' and 'you have to end up the same way (as Francesco Pio Maimone, ed). Valda (the surname of the alleged murderer, ed) reigns'. In the hearing scheduled for March 28, the young man will have to testify in front of the judges of the first court of assizes of Naples. Last March 7, at the end of the first hearing, it was precisely the lawyer of the Maimone family, lawyer Sergio Pisani, who spoke of an 'intimidation climate'. Pisani decided to release statements to the press after having listened in the courtroom to the testimony of one of the chalet owners, near which the murder took place, and after having noted the unjustified absence of the owner of another chalet. This circumstance prompted the judge to decide for the coercive accompaniment of the witness who should testify next Thursday.
