Sorrento Commemorates International Women's Day with Events and Discussions

Tomorrow, on the 20th and 22nd of March, the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Municipality of Sorrento has organized several meetings to celebrate International Women's Day. Tomorrow at 10:30 am, a mimosa tree will be planted in the gardens of the Sorrento Foundation. The ceremony will be accompanied by a musical performance by maestro Luigi Staiano. On March 20th, at 2:30 pm, in the Tasso hall of the Municipality of Sorrento, there will be a meeting titled "Sorrento for the rights of children: A Story of Friendship and Solidarity", with the participation of the mayor, Massimo Coppola, and Carla Agrillo, president of the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Municipality of Sorrento. On March 22nd, at 3:30 pm, in the Tasso hall of the Municipality of Sorrento, there will be a presentation of the book "What do walls taste like" by Paolo Aleotti, dedicated to the condition of women prisoners. The meeting with the author, opened by greetings from the mayor Massimo Coppola and president Carla Agrillo, will see the intervention of Samuele Ciambriello, Ombudsman for the rights of prisoners in Campania. Moderated by Michele Gargiulo, of the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Municipality of Sorrento. As part of the celebration of women's day, tomorrow evening, at 7 pm, there will be a concert recital "Queens of Italy" on the history of Italy from the 1950s to today, told through the songs and the interpreters who have made it the soundtrack, with Rosalba Spagnuolo, Franco Cesarano, Enzo Donnarumma, Vittorio Pane, and Carlo Alfaro.
