The defeat at Monopoli has further diminished hopes of making the playoffs. The red and black club, in a statement on the official Sorrento website, writes to the fans.
The letter to the fans
«Dear fans, it has been a very long season for you as it has been for us - a season made of endless kilometers to travel...all together. You never abandoned us: you were there in Crotone to talk to us after the fourth loss in the first six games, you were with us to celebrate in Avellino after a splendid victory achieved with ten against eleven. You have been by our side in the 17 matches played so far in Potenza, which became our home field for this season, and your encouragement has never been lacking. We have always felt you close, and our commitment for this reason has not only never been lacking but has doubled because double have been both your efforts and ours from the end of July to today».
Continuing: «We started with a specific goal shared with you: to try to keep this precious category which also represents the precursor to having a brand new stadium. We all felt invested with this responsibility and we have multiplied the energies, exactly as you have done. Now that task we have had since the start of the season we want to bring it to completion, all together - as always».
