The new cycle of "Spring Fairy Tales", a historic theatrical review set in the Naples Botanical Garden, begins on Saturday, March 16, thus kicking off its 28th edition. Five titles for as many shows adapted by writer and director Giovanna Facciolo from the most famous and beloved stories of universal children's literature. This is done to create, with the established itinerant formula, a new programming dedicated to adults and children invited to explore and discover magical places and timeless stories. Proposed by the "I teatrini" association and the University of Studies Federico II, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Campania region, and the municipality of Naples, the shows are set up, until next June 2, in the enchanting spaces of the Neapolitan garden, created in 1807 by the will of King Joseph Bonaparte, older brother of Napoleon, and which is still, in terms of the importance of collections and the number of species cultivated, among the largest in Europe. Stories and tales for young and old that have attracted thousands of spectators for 28 years now in the magical encounter between poetry, theater, science, and nature. In this new season, which, between performances for schools and days dedicated to families, announces about 60 days of shows, are scheduled: "Without Cat or Boots" (from March 16 to April 7, 11 am) based on the works of Perrault, Basile, the Grimm brothers; "Like Alice.." (from April 13 to 28, 11 am) inspired by the masterpiece of Lewis Carroll; "The Fables of Wisdom" which stages ancient fables of Aesop, Phaedrus, and La Fontaine (on the days 4 and 5 with a double show at 11 am and 5 pm on the occasion of "Planta 2024" and with further replays only in the morning, 11 am, on the days 12,19 and 26 May); "In the Kingdom of Oz" from the famous "Wizard of Oz" by Lyman Frank Baum (on the days 11, 18, 25 May and 1 June, 11 am) and, finally, "Story of a Tree and a Child" (only 1 and 2 June, 11 am) a delicate green fable inspired by an illustrated story by Shel Silverstein. "Each show," emphasize Giovanna Facciolo and Luigi Marsano, respectively the artistic and organizational directors of "I teatrini" - "was created thinking of the Naples Botanical Garden as one of the main protagonists of our work, along with the characters from the fables of the Grimm brothers and Aesop, Phaedrus, La Fontaine, Perrault, Carroll, Baum, who here have a face and a voice and many things to teach beyond the pages of the volumes that have handed down their deeds to history." The fairy tales at the botanical garden have now become a much-anticipated appointment, in the spring programming as well as in the autumn, for many people, adults and children, who find, in direct contact with nature, moments of play and study entering into an active relationship with characters and stories that belong to our culture and our civilization.
