Mafia murder in Lecce, street ambush: 43-year-old killed
A 44-year-old from Melito has been arrested: he will have to answer for stalking and is now in jail. He had been involved in a series of incidents never reported by the woman. The two met several months ago at her workplace, where he, almost the same age as her, became a regular customer just to see her.
Day after day, he declared his feelings: he wanted her as a partner, but she rejected him. She didn't want him as a partner but occasionally gave in to his requests.
Attempts to kill ex-wife, police arrest 40-year-old in Naples
Last winter, he asked her to get in the car to talk: she agreed, perhaps to calm him down, but he jumped on her and tore her clothes, attempting to have a relationship. She managed to resist. He stopped but shattered her phone screen.
The Incident
The woman got out of the car and walked away, terrified. The 44-year-old realized he had gone too far and risked losing her. So he apologized on his knees, saying the classic phrase "It won't happen again." She forgave him. For a few months, he left her alone. Then summer came, and he invited her to the beach. She agreed. He arrived later, just after work, but as soon as he reached the beach and saw her distracted on her smartphone, he destroyed her phone again; then he slapped her.
For many more months, she endured stalking and messages, until a pivotal event occurred. He grabbed her and threatened to kill her, then jumped in the car and tried to crush her against the wall. The victim managed to escape, fled, and encountered an acquaintance who immediately understood, hid her in the back seat, and drove to the Melito police station. The Mobile Radio Unit of Marano found the accused walking back and forth restlessly, because "he needed to talk to her." They stopped and arrested him. He will have to answer for stalking and is now in jail.
