The Carabinieri of the stations of Montefalcone di Val Fortore and Castelfranco in Miscano, coordinated by the company of San Bartolomeo in Galdo, during a check carried out at an agricultural land, found two hunting rifles concealed in a plastic tube hidden in a pit under a sheet of metal, whose serial numbers had obvious signs of abrasion. It was ascertained that the weapons came from a burglary committed in October 2022 in Castelfranco in Miscano against a Tuscan hunter.
The Carabinieri also found a disc harrow hidden among some brambles, as well as two brush cutters, a generator, and two pneumatic hammers hidden under some sheets of metal in another ditch of the same land, all without documents. The disc harrow was found to have been stolen last October in Irpinia; the owner was contacted, who recognized it as his own.
The Carabinieri arrested the man for the crimes of possession of clandestine weapons and receiving stolen goods, placing him under house arrest at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Benevento and seized the stolen rifles and the recovered equipment, taking care of the return of the disc harrow to its rightful owner.
