Stolen Trucks Recovered and Suspect Charged in Mirabella Eclano

In just under 24 hours, the military of the Mirabella Eclano Company have found two stolen trucks, also managing to identify and report the alleged perpetrator of one of the two thefts. The first truck was intercepted in Mirabella Eclano on the night between Thursday and Friday: the driver of the vehicle fled, trying several times to ram the carabinieri's car, before abandoning the vehicle and escaping through the surrounding lands. Thanks to a constant search activity, the fugitive was tracked down a few hours later in Bonito. He is a 35-year-old of Moroccan origins, coming from the province of Foggia and already known to the law enforcement. When he was stopped, he still had on him the traces of the nocturnal escape, attempted first through the woods and subsequently by fording the Calore river. In light of the elements collected, the man was referred in a state of freedom to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Benevento for aggravated theft. Investigations by the carabinieri are still ongoing, aimed both at identifying possible accomplices and at ascertaining any responsibilities in criminal acts committed in Irpinia. Last night, in a peripheral area of the municipality of Frigento, a truck stolen two days earlier in Grottaminarda was finally found by the military of the local Station. The vehicle was returned to the rightful owner. In this case too, investigations by the carabinieri are still ongoing.
