Suspected Arson in Abandoned Kindergarten in Piedimonte Matese

There might have been an act of vandalism at the root of the fire that broke out overnight in Piedimonte Matese in a disused kindergarten. The firefighters from Caserta (detachment of Piedimonte Matese) intervened following reports from citizens living near the building, who saw a lot of smoke coming out. The flames developed in a ground floor room where there were furnishings such as furniture, desks, blackboards, and paper material; the fire was started by abandoned trash. The firefighters first prevented the fire from spreading, and then extinguished it, securing the structure. The Carabinieri of the Company of Piedimonte Matese arrived at the scene and are conducting investigations.
