Suspension of City Councils in Monteforte Irpino and Quindici Due to Mafia Influence

The Prefect of Avellino, Paolo Spena, has formalized with immediate effect the suspension of the city councils of Monteforte Irpino and Quindici, with the simultaneous termination of the mayors, Costantino Giordano and Eduardo Rubinaccio. A decree from the President of the Republic is awaited. Special commissions have also been appointed to manage the two municipalities dissolved by the government due to mafia influences for the next 18 months. The commission for the municipality of Monteforte Irpino is composed of Rosalba Scialla, a retired prefect; Salvatore Guerra, deputy prefect; and Raffaele Barbato, an economic and financial officer. For the municipality of Quindici, the commission is made up of deputy prefects Vincenzo Lubrano and Sabrina D'Angeli, and Alessandra Pascarella, a second-tier manager.
