The sole administrator of Alto Calore, Michelangelo Ciarcia, has been suspended from public service. He is under investigation along with 14 other people for embezzlement, issuance and use of invoices for non-existent operations, undue tax compensation, and falsification of accounts.
The suspension order was signed by the GIP of the Avellino Court, and also involves an employee of the entity assigned to Ciarcia's secretariat.
The investigation, coordinated by public prosecutors Vincenzo Russo and Luigi Iglio, who had requested house arrest for Ciarcia, refers to professional training courses reserved for employees carried out from 2019 to 2021 and aimed at acquiring greater technological knowledge. Courses that were never actually held, but allowed Alto Calore to enjoy a tax compensation of tax credits for 632 thousand euros.
Also involved is the president of the company participated by the Municipality of Avellino Grande srl, Gerardo Santoli, in charge of waste management, in the capacity of supplier of training courses. Alto Calore is currently undergoing a preventive agreement procedure before the Avellino Court following the finding by the Prosecutor's Office of a debt exposure of about 150 million euros in the year 2021.
