Yesterday, the road police officers of Fuorigrotta, on the Naples ring road, near the toll booth of the Fuorigrotta exit, intercepted a vehicle that had been reported a short while ago for 'suspicious behavior', and they stopped it.
The driver, from the beginning, showed intolerance to the police control; at the same time, the officers noticed a tarp covering the rear part of the vehicle as if it was hiding something.
In fact, hidden under the tarp, several plastic bags were found, containing a total of 50 sticks of cigarettes (500 packs), without the state monopoly mark.
Therefore, the aforementioned, a 38-year-old Neapolitan with a police record, was reported for smuggling of foreign processed tobacco; meanwhile, the cigarettes, with a total value of 1000 euros, were seized.
The 38-year-old was also charged with four violations of the Highway Code for driving with inefficient tires, driving on the highway in conditions that could create danger, driving without safety belts and driving without a driving license, for a total of 254 euros in fines and the deduction of seven points from the license.
