Sustainability and innovation are the principles behind the numerous interventions affecting the water and sewage infrastructure of the Sarnese Vesuvian area, thanks to the synergy between Gori, Ente Idrico Campano, and the Campania Region, with multiple positive impacts on the environment and the community. This is the direction in which the "Actions for Water" program is moving: the plan of interventions for the reduction of losses and the protection of the water resource that also involved the Municipality of Angri. Two kilometers of old pipes replaced with new and high-performance ones; municipal water network expanded from 3 to 16 districts to reduce the impact on users in case of maintenance or faults; 8,800,000 liters of water per day recovered thanks to digitalization interventions that allow constant monitoring of water flows; 9 new regulatory bodies installed to allow, upstream and downstream, the definitive overcoming of critical issues related to water shortages and pressure. These are some of the objectives achieved, illustrated this morning at the Monte Taccaro reservoir, during the inspection to view the refurbished infrastructures by Gori. Present were the Mayor of Angri, Cosimo Ferraioli, the President of Gori, Sabino De Blasi, the CEO of Gori, Vittorio Cuciniello, the Coordinator of the Sarnese Vesuvian District of the Ente Idrico Campano, Raffaele Coppola, and the President of the Ente Idrico Campano, Luca Mascolo. Gori is committed in the municipal territory with the program "Energies for the Sarno", which includes the realization of two important works: the completion of the sewage network, which will allow the elimination of discharges into the environment and bring the wastewater of 30,000 inhabitants to treatment, and the upgrading of the Angri purifier, to adapt the plant to the flow rates of wastewater it will have to treat at the end of the activities for the decontamination of the Sarno river. Thanks to the works carried out, in fact, the purifier will be able to accommodate up to 20,000 cubic meters of sewage every hour. An important milestone from an environmental point of view, which will allow optimal management even in case of seasonal peaks linked to the start of canning operations and exceptional meteorological events. "The activation of the Monte Taccaro reservoir is a planned and timely intervention, which allows the use of the plant both for accumulation and compensation, and therefore solves once and for all a series of problems that have been faced by Gori, in order to have a complete stabilization of the water supply without any difficulty in managing the service in the territory," says the Mayor of Angri, Cosimo Ferraioli. "With the leaders of Ente Idrico Campano, we once again testify to our concrete commitment to the protection of the water resource. In Angri, we have activated a very important reservoir and with the interventions included in the Actions for Water program, we have achieved the recovery of over 8 million liters of water per day. Moreover, Gori is also working with the Energies for the Sarno project, through which we aim to clean up our river by 2025, with a vast action of completing the sewer and purification schemes in all the municipalities included in the hydrographic basin. In this way, we will contribute significantly to the recovery of full bathing suitability in the Gulf of Naples: a gigantic step forward that will also boost local economies," emphasizes the President of Gori, Sabino De Blasi. Vision, objectives, and direct interventions in the field underline the concrete approach of Gori's strategy. A commitment that bases its efforts on the Sustainable Development Goals, respectively "Clean Water" and "Sustainable Communities", issued by the UN in the 2030 Agenda.
