Sustainable Mobility: Free Parking and Traffic Zone Access for Electric and Hybrid Cars in 2024

The Municipality confirms free parking in spaces marked with blue lines for electric cars exclusively and discounted parking rates for hybrid cars throughout 2024, as well as the possibility for these vehicles to circulate in limited traffic zones. The extension of the benefits already planned for the past years was approved by the City Council, on the proposal of the Councilor for Infrastructure and Mobility, Edoardo Cosenza, and in agreement with the Naples Mobility Company. The circulation of electric and hybrid cars in the city ZTL (Limited Traffic Zones) areas is subject to the issuance of an authorization by ANM, at a cost of 10 euros. The cost for issuing the authorization for free parking in the blue lines is 15 euros per year, which can be requested by the owners of electric cars. The discounted rate for parking hybrid cars is divided into four brackets (from zero to 150 euros), determined based on the Isee. Those who do not present the Isee are placed in the highest bracket. The same occurs if the hybrid car is registered to a legal entity. In all cases, it is necessary to pay 10 euros for the issuance of the permit. The benefits for electric and hybrid cars do not apply, however, in rotating parking areas, structured parking lots, and car-valet services. From this year, the use of Tap and Park is mandatory in order to monitor the system and allow the Municipality and ANM to jointly evaluate any corrections to be made for 2025.
