Symbola: A Fusion of Nature and Humanity at Giardini Ravino

At Forio di Ischia in the Giardini Ravino, the cultural activities for the 2024 season, curated by Mariangela Catuogno, kick off with an exhibition by the artist Marta Krevsun titled Symbola, which will be inaugurated on Saturday, April 6 at 7 p.m. in the Moby Dick hall. Marta Krevsun, of Ukrainian origin, is a journalist and writer, active in social and cultural awareness campaigns; she loves to experiment with different forms of art through which she expresses her vision of the relationship between Nature and man. The mediated impulses, directed towards creative ends, allow the transition from the plane of Nature to that of culture: Marta Krevsun's creative act is a synthesis between form and idea. The Symbola exhibition is an expression of the artist's personal research, which is configured as a balance of opposites, complementarity, meeting between the masculine and the feminine, where Nature manifests itself in its multiplicity: destruction and rebirth, mystery and light. Krevsun's works reveal this dichotomy of Nature, which the artist harmonizes through an imaginary that feeds on symbols, borrowed from ancient art, traditions, and stories: the symbol unites, creates connections, is both signifier and signified, not just an image-signifier, but also an idea-signified. An oneiric journey that imposes on the visitor a reflection on a possible dimension, a search for the self in dialogue with the other: Symbola hints at the transcendent, at what can be partially intuited, expresses the unconscious and is at the same time an archetype of the cultural heritage transmitted.
