Temporary Closure and Remote Learning Reinstated at Acerra Middle School Due to Water Damage

Water infiltrations in the slab of a lower secondary school in Acerra have forced Mayor Tito d'Errico to close the school complex and temporarily return to remote learning. According to the municipality, the heavy rains in recent days have caused infiltrations in the roof slab, thus causing a problem in the electrical system of the lower secondary school 'Gaetano Caporale'. Following inspections by the Local Health Authority, which drafted a report indicating some prescriptions to be complied with within 15 days, the mayor has therefore ordered the school's closure. 'The works on the electrical system and the restoration of the bituminous covering of the slab in the affected classrooms, the latter intervention already planned by a Council resolution in November 2023, will start immediately with the aim of ensuring the return to in-person teaching activities as soon as possible. In the meantime, in fact, following a discussion with the school principal, it was deemed appropriate to agree on conducting teaching activities remotely.'
