Territorial emergency, it is the shortage of specialists that is shaping the restructuring map, as emerged from the meeting of the mayors' conference that met at the Asl headquarters in via Oderisio. In the presence of the president Clemente Mastella and the other mayors (of Apice, Arpaia and Castelpagano), the general manager of the Asl, Gennaro Volpe, explained that currently only 48 territorial emergency doctors are in service: just over 50% of those who should be in service, and the situation is set to worsen due to upcoming retirements.
The activity was therefore reprogrammed thinking about 18 positions in total, also taking into account the current regulations on overtime and additional services. The emergency network will consist of 1 operational center; 2 Psaut (at Cerreto and San Bartolomeo); 5 mobile medical stations: Benevento, Melizzano, Torrecuso (in the district of Olivola), Montesarchio and San Marco dei Cavoti; another station that, considering the peculiarities of the territory and the complex road network, will be in service in Paduli.
No doctors on the 11 nursing ambulances «equipped with the latest generation technological tools - Volpe assured - and professionals with high skills who apply the specific operational protocols of advanced rescue, to intervene effectively and with absolute professionalism». For Mastella «the result achieved is considerable, considering the resources deployed and the availability of doctors. The Asl has welcomed the concerns reported and together with director Volpe, we have found solutions that take into account the specificities of the territories».
