The 70th Naples Prize 2024 Edition Announced with New Categories

The announcement for the 2024 edition of the Naples Prize, the 70th, has been published. Several novelties for this edition, with the change of the 3 categories which from this year are narrative and essay writing, poetry and published musical texts, graphic novels and comics. The works can be written in Italian or translated into Italian from other languages, and must have been published in the period from March 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024. Competing books must adhere to the theme 'Tales of the Mediterranean', meaning works by authors who come from the Mediterranean area or that speak of the Mediterranean. Readers have a new task: it is they who have the ability to report, directly on the website of the Naples Prize Foundation, no more than 2 titles for each of the established sections by no later than May 15. By the same deadline, publishing houses and record labels can also report no more than 2 titles per section. Each member of the jury must indicate no more than 2 titles for each of the established sections, always by the deadline of May 15; the foundation will communicate to the interested publishing houses the requests for books reported by their jurors and the publishers will proceed to send the copies to the foundation. The technical jury will choose by July 5 works from the 3 sections (2 for the first and second category, 1 for the third). The selected works, for each of the 3 sections, are all winners and will not be subjected to the judgment of the popular jury; the authors of the winning works will receive a cash prize of 3000 euros. The prizes will be awarded to the winners during the ceremony to be held in Naples in December 2024.
