On Friday, April 12, at the Congress Center of the University of Naples Federico II in Via Partenope, a ritual is renewed, now in its seventy-sixth edition, established by the ANDE (National Association of Women Electors, founded in 1946 by Carla Orlando Garabelli, who was inspired by the American example provided by The League of Women Voters).
This year's 76th National ANDE Congress, 'We are Europe', enjoys the High Patronage of the European Parliament, and the patronages of the European Commission, the Municipality of Naples, the University of Naples Federico II, the Single Guarantee Committee, and the Order of Journalists of Campania, due to the extreme relevance of the topics addressed, presented by authoritative speakers from the mentioned institutions, in a historical period in which the rapid evolution of events changes scenarios and outcomes daily, in all European ministries and areas of action.
Many ANDE delegations from all over Italy are expected on April 12 and 13, on the occasion of the National Congress 'We are Europe' not only to testify ANDE's commitment to Europe, but also to follow and discuss aspects and states of the art, rooted in everyday life, from gender equality to the value of democracy.
The theme, identified in 2023, has been developed and promoted for a multitude of reasons: for the history of ANDE, which has always promoted moments of in-depth discussion related to Europe (in 1969 Naples hosted the XXI National ANDE Congress: Formation of a European Consciousness), for a contingent temporal factor, a few weeks before the European elections, and still to offer moments of confrontation and debate, training and growth.
'It is an honor, an emotion, and a great responsibility to host the 76th national congress,' says Clarissa Campodonico, President of ANDE Naples. Talking about Europe is neither trivial nor obvious, it is fundamental, preparatory to the imminent elections, indispensable to clarify doubts or areas of shadow, to consolidate a vision, to understand its history and set new goals, to bring into focus a vision.
