Three Youths Arrested for Assaulting an Off-Duty Police Officer on Domiziana Road

Three young individuals, aged between 20 and 28, were arrested by the Road Police for assaulting a municipal police officer on the Domiziana road between Castel Volturno and Giugliano. The arrest was made following investigations led by the North Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, with officers from the Road Police Department of Campania and Basilicata executing the arrest warrant. The three young men, part of a group of five, were identified through the analysis of footage showing the brutal and unprovoked assault. The investigation into the events leading up to the incident revealed the dynamics of the aggression. The youths, driving their cars recklessly and at high speed on the Domitiana State Road, disregarded the safety of other road users. The assaulted officer, who was off duty and in the car with his family, had attempted to dissuade the youths from such behavior, which led to a violent response from the group. Initially, they chased the officer's car, then forced it to stop by positioning their vehicles in front and behind the victim's car. Once the officer was forced to exit his vehicle, he was savagely attacked, and even his wife and minor children, who were with him, suffered injuries.
