Tolkien: Man, Professor, Author - A Resounding Success in Naples

Great success in Naples for "Tolkien. Man, Professor, Author", the exhibition promoted by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the University of Oxford, inaugurated last March 16 at the Royal Palace by the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano. After the excellent results at the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome, the exhibition dedicated to Tolkien in just three weeks, from March 16 to April 7, 2024, recorded as many as 34,795 entries and a younger audience compared to that involved during other periods of the year. "The success of the first weeks of the Tolkien exhibition in Naples confirms the goodness of our work and the greatness of such an important author for world literature. The large public participation and the increasing involvement of the new generations is the data that comforts us the most. To discover the life, works, and human adventure of Tolkien means to reaffirm and safeguard some fundamental values such as solidarity, friendship, and the protection of the human," commented Minister Sangiuliano.
