Torre del Greco Woman's Ordeal: Domestic Abuse and Attempted Assault Lead to Arrest

Threats and physical harassment that continued throughout the marriage and even after the separation, culminating in an attempt of sexual violence. A hellish life for a woman from Torre del Greco who, however, found the strength and courage to report the man, 35 years old. Today marks a turning point, with the carabinieri executing a house arrest order, with the application of an electronic bracelet and prohibition to communicate, even by phone or electronically, with the victim, issued by the GIP of the Torre Annunziata court upon request from the Prosecutor's Office. The 35-year-old man subject to the order is accused of domestic abuse and attempted sexual violence. During the investigation, the military police found that the man, during the marriage and immediately after the separation from his spouse, had engaged in a series of violent behaviors, with assaults and threats against the woman. Throughout their cohabitation, the victim had suffered beatings, insults, and death threats. In some cases, the woman was threatened to be disfigured with acid or to be burned, while on one occasion, after the end of the relationship, the man also attempted to rape her, attacking her from behind, but was forced to stop thanks to the intervention of a friend of the woman.
