Trenitalia Maintains Long-Distance Connections Despite Interruption on Benevento-Foggia Line

To ensure the mobility of travelers on the Benevento-Foggia line, currently affected by the interruption due to a landslide in the Ariano Irpino-Montecalvo section, Trenitalia will maintain long-distance connections also in the upcoming weekend. Part of the journey will be carried out with replacement buses, extending the travel time by up to 90 minutes. "During the weekend, however, there could be repercussions on the service on the Adriatic line, which these days is used by those moving from Puglia towards the north". This was announced in a statement by Ferrovie dello Stato, which explained: "Since the beginning of the interruption last March 12, to meet the needs of travelers, Trenitalia has deployed over 100 customer assistance staff at the stations of Roma Termini, Bari Centrale, Lecce, Foggia, Benevento, and Caserta, engaged in providing information to customers on replacement buses and alternative routes. Almost all passengers were informed in advance via SMS and email about the travel changes through the 'Smart caring' service, the remaining part at the ticket offices". Furthermore, Trenitalia has activated about 700 replacement buses and provided over 2000 assistance kits with comfort items.
