Two Arrests in Montoro for Drug Possession and Violating a Restraining Order

Two arrests in a few hours in Montoro by the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit of the Solofra Company. The first arrest occurred for possession of drugs with the intent to distribute. Handcuffs were placed on a 61-year-old from Ottaviano. The military noticed his abnormal behavior while he was stopped in a car. They thus proceeded to check. The 61-year-old, already known to law enforcement, upon seeing the vehicle, in a clumsy attempt to dispose of it and test negative for any control, threw a vacuum-sealed package out the window - later recovered by the military - containing over 30 grams of cocaine. He was also found in possession of 600 euros in cash, likely proceeds from the illicit drug trafficking activity. Both the drugs and the money were seized. The second arrest was made for violating the measure of removal from the family home. It involves a 46-year-old local man, caught by the Carabinieri at his father's home despite the prohibition imposed by the judicial authority. By order of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Avellino, both arrested individuals were taken to the Bellizzi Irpino prison.
