Two days of workshops for the project «Pathways to Innovation and Entrepreneurship», selected by the US Diplomatic Mission in Italy in order to promote collaborations between universities and companies. The project, conceived and coordinated by Professor Mita Marra of the Department of Social Sciences of the University of Naples, involves a traveling training course with a series of meetings in Campania and then concluding overseas with an event in New York in July 2024. Appointment on Wednesday, January 31 at the San Giovanni a Teduccio Technology Park and on February 1 in the Monumental Complex of San Giovanni Battista in Cava de' Tirreni.
National and international experts will address crucial issues such as local and global entrepreneurial ecosystems, the sustainability agenda, responsible research and innovation, energy transition and the enhancement of cultural heritage, taking into account the needs of companies, especially in the sectors of aerospace, electronics, agribusiness and culture, among others.
Ten young researchers, selected from master's students in Social Innovation, PhD and post-doc students in Industrial Engineering and Chemical Sciences, will have the opportunity to present their work and make themselves available to companies interested in investing in innovation to enhance their entrepreneurial capacity.
The January 31 workshop will explore the theme of entrepreneurship in the ecosystem, with particular attention to the aviation system, in order to create and disseminate scientific knowledge useful to strengthen collaborations between universities and companies.
On February 1 in Cava de' Tirreni, the opportunities offered by the Space Economy will be explored in relation to growth and innovation prospects in the electronics sector. Of particular importance is the round table on «Territorial systems and global markets» with Pietro Carratù of Youbiquo, Domenico Agnello of PwC, Marco Bellucci of Mare Group, Raffaele Gigantino of VMware Italy, Andrea Miccio of Banca del Fucino, Renata Roffeni Tiraferri of Softlab, Francesco Serravalle of CoworkingSA and president of the SIT Group Confindustria Salerno, Pellegrino Spina of Lantronix and Aniello Stellato of Tme.
All the workshops will be attended by international partners such as Cornell Tech and the OCSE platform for entrepreneurship education, which have supported the project since its inception.
The event marks the start of the activities of the project Pathways to Innovation and Entrepreneurship, funded by the diplomatic mission of the United States of America in Italy. The aim of the project is to facilitate collaboration between companies and young researchers through a traveling course of four thematic workshops that will be held between January and May 2024 between Italy and the United States. The workshops will address crucial issues for the development of companies and for the research and innovation strategy of university institutions.
