The future of Alex Meret, the goalkeeper of Napoli who has been sidelined since last December due to a muscle injury not yet fully recovered, seems to be in the balance. However, the future is still unclear: Meret's contract would expire at the end of this season, although the club of Aurelio De Laurentiis sleeps soundly as it retains an option within the contract to extend the agreement for at least one season.
An option that both the player and his entourage have always taken for granted, also because Napoli would hardly lose a goalkeeper on whom a significant investment was made in the summer of 2018 to purchase him from Udinese.
In recent weeks, however, there seem to have been significant contacts between his agents and Roma of the Friedkin, who are already looking around the market for the possible replacement of Rui Patricio, who will expire next year. In case of farewell to Napoli at zero cost, the yellow-red club would be interested in Meret for the ownership of the goal.
