University for the City and Institutions: A Meeting in Naples

"The University for the City and Institutions" is the theme of the meeting dedicated to the role of universities in the urban context and in relation to public institutions that will be held tomorrow, Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 4 p.m., in the Italia room of the Mediterraneo theater at the Overseas Exhibition of Naples. The main focus is the complex of the exhibition, starting from the contents of the volume "the overseas exhibition in western Naples. Historical research and restoration of modern" edited by Aldo Aveta, Alessandro Castagnaro and Fabio Mangone of the University of Naples Federico II. The volume, the result of unpublished studies by teachers and researchers of the Federico II and Suor Orsola Benincasa on one of the most representative architectural complexes of Neapolitan architecture of the twentieth century, is a tool at the service of institutions, according to the purposes of the third mission, useful to reactivate the exhibition as a driver for the necessary regeneration of western Naples. The works will open with the greetings of the delegate councilor of the overseas exhibition, Maria Caputo, of the rector of the Federico II, Matteo Lorito, of the rector of the Suor Orsola Benincasa, Lucio D'Alessandro, of the general director Abap, Luigi La Rocca, and of the director of the Diarc, Michelangelo Russo. The curators of the volume will intervene in a round table moderated by the journalist of Il Mattino, Vittorio Del Tufo. The meeting will conclude with the interventions of the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, and the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi.
