Unveiling the Ecobonus Scam

Tax credits worth a total of approximately 19.5 million euros, related to construction incentives under the so-called 'Ecobonus', have been seized by the financial police in Naples from three companies in the Neapolitan area, specifically from Frattamaggiore, Caivano, and Casoria. According to the investigations carried out by the Frattamaggiore financiers, coordinated by the Naples North Prosecutor's Office, the renovation works on which the companies had claimed the million-euro credit were, in reality, never executed or, in some cases, carried out for amounts significantly lower than those declared. One of the suspects had even attempted to assign a task to a financial intermediary operator from Piedmont, specialized in credit transfer operations for small and medium enterprises and corporate companies, in an attempt to monetize the fictitious credits. Since the beginning of the year to date, the circulation of non-existent tax credits amounting to over 370 million euros has been halted, thus preventing significant damage to the Treasury.
