On Valentine's Day, the 'Shakespeare Yard' reopens at Toledo Gallery in the Spanish Quarters. From Friday, February 16 at 8:30 pm to Sunday, February 25 at 6 pm (with repeats on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 and Friday 24), 'Hamlet' returns to the innovative stable theater in the Spanish Quarters, dramaturgy and direction by Laura Angiulli, founder of Toledo Gallery. The Bard's masterpiece is interpreted by a renewed cast: Paolo Aguzzi, Alessandra D'Elia, Enrico Disegni, Antonio Marfella, Valentina Martiniello, Ettore Nigro, Andrea Palladino and Antonio Torino. Scene by Rosario Squillace. The show is part of the Valentine's Day promotion: until February 16 it is possible to purchase two tickets for the price of one (18 euros, instead of 36).

'Hamlet' is dedicated to Stefano Jotti, a recently deceased actor who has worked extensively with Toledo Gallery.

'The show is dedicated to Stefano who remains with us in an absence that we feel very depriving', explains Laura Angiulli.

In 'Hamlet', the relationship with parental figures, the disruption in family affections, the call of these same affections often weighed down by the assumption of guilt not always attributable to the subjects/children - but which they themselves, in an unhealthy manifestation of assimilation of parental figures end up assuming (unfortunately recurring themes in today's reality where the couple's crisis is frequent!) - are the founding elements of the work. Around the value of the matter there is little to say except what is already sufficiently known: the splendor of language; the political context that welcomes the dramatic unfolding of events; the conception and creation of absolutely accomplished characters in the smallest folds of the human typology to which they refer.

These are just some of the places of fascination and emotional stimulation for an artistically attractive staging, and rich in ideas also in the subsequent opportunities for reflection and debate that usually accompany the performances proposed by Toledo Gallery.

The lights of 'Hamlet' are signed by Lucio Sabatino, assistant Martina Gallo, scenography Clelio Alfinito, Mario Di Nardo, scenic elements Vincenzo Romano.

The Shakespeare yard continues at Toledo Gallery, the next show always with dramaturgy and direction by Laura Angiulli is 'Much Ado About Nothing'.
