Vanvitelli University and the Diocese of Caserta Collaborate to Support Students and Promote Culture

The Vanvitelli University and the Diocese of Caserta together for the support of students and the promotion of culture. This morning, the rector, Gianfranco Nicoletti, and the bishop, Pietro Lagnese, signed an agreement that covers various areas: from teaching to residential life, from study to cooperation in the territory, from widespread culture to offering the entire academic community the service of spiritual and human assistance. The agreement, in particular, provides that the Diocese has a central role in taking care of those who come to study in Caserta from other parts of Italy or from abroad - with special attention to ethnic communities - in the perspective of an ever greater cultural, social, and religious integration. Furthermore, the Diocese of Caserta intends to enhance scientific projects and university-level educational initiatives, for the enjoyment of its artistic, book, and archival heritage by academic components and university students, for the reception of off-site students, for the free use of spaces for study and student aggregation, for the setup and organization of meetings, conferences. After all, it is a strategic interest of Vanvitelli to promote a culture of inclusion that values diversity and differences, ensuring equity in access to educational services and promoting a welcoming policy for the weaker individuals and respect for diversity, without distinction of ethnicity, culture, religion, sex. 'This agreement,' explained Rector Nicoletti, 'also falls within the objectives of the Manifesto shared and signed by the Conference of Italian University Rectors and the Italian Episcopal Conference (Cei) aimed at collaboration for the training of young generations. With the Diocese of Caserta, after all, we have long had a fruitful collaboration and many projects developed and implemented together. Its support is fundamental to be able to offer our young students more and more opportunities and to strengthen our inclusiveness.'
