Screenings, meetings, and seminars on Cinema and Madness. Starting on March 21st and continuing until May, the first edition of Vertigo in Ateneo kicks off, a project funded by the Ministry of Culture, General Direction CINEMA AND AUDIOVISUAL, and in collaboration with the Archival and Bibliographic Superintendency of Campania. The series will take place at the headquarters of the Rectorate of Vanvitelli (Viale Ellittico, Caserta) with the first appointment scheduled for Thursday, March 21st. Participating in the screening of SHINING by Stanley Kubrick will be Fabrizio Sciacca, professor of Political Philosophy, and Ignazio Senatore, psychiatrist and film critic. The meetings, along with the film screenings, will continue on April 11th with Flavia Monceri, professor of Political Philosophy Diego Del Pozzo, professor and film critic, for the screening of JOKER, and on April 19th with Paolo Bellini, professor of Political Philosophy, for the screening of the film THE LORD OF THE RINGS - THE TWO TOWERS. The project will also include two special events, open to the public and in collaboration with the Alessandro Manzoni State High School in Caserta. The meetings, curated by film critic Federico Pontiggia, will feature, on March 27th, directors Fabio and Damiano D’Innocenzo and on May 6th, director and screenwriter Francesco Bruni. The concluding event of the series will take place on May 27th with The papers tell the story. Presentation of the volume “Vertigo. Madness in Cinema between Law and Politics.
