Water Supply Disruption in Benevento Expected to End Sooner Than Anticipated

The inconveniences in many neighborhoods of Benevento, and in some centers of Sannio, due to the stoppage of the water supply starting from 4 PM yesterday, which was initially estimated to last 48 hours, might conclude before tomorrow afternoon, perhaps already during the night or tomorrow morning. Gesesa announced in the early afternoon, communicating "to have just completed visits to the high-speed construction sites, together with the managers responsible for the Campania Region, with whom collaboration is constant. The works to eliminate interferences with the Biferno water conduit are in the completion phase, thanks to the commitment of a high and qualified number of workers and in the absence, at the moment, of possible unforeseen events." Therefore, the company adds, "there is confidence in an earlier reopening of the Biferno conduit than originally expected. The Campania Region, when it has completed the filling of the conduit and verified its resistance to operating pressures, will send written communication of the completion of the works. At that point, Gesesa will be ready to intervene to immediately start the reopening maneuvers of the city conduits and other interested municipalities." The possibility of an early restart of the water supply was also mentioned by the mayor Clemente Mastella.
