White Stork Rescued and Released Back into the Wild

After appropriate treatment, the white stork recovered in recent days inside a reclamation canal in the municipality of Cancello ed Arnone, malnourished and in obvious difficulty, possibly due to some trauma from impact with overhead power lines, has been set free. Indeed, after the veterinary care administered by the Regional Reference Center for Urban Veterinary Hygiene of Naples and by the Federico II Wildlife Recovery Center of Naples, having completed the necessary rehabilitation process, the female white stork was released back into nature near the place of its discovery. In addition to the veterinary doctors, the Forestry Carabinieri of the local unit of Castel Volturno and the local maritime office of the Coast Guard of Castel Volturno also intervened on the spot. The Stork, after the first moments of hesitation, took a beautiful flight that reassured everyone about its recovered state of health.
