Woman Accused of Concealing Weapon and Ammunition in Her Car

A 52-year-old woman will be charged with receiving stolen goods and possession of an illegal firearm and its ammunition. She had asked the Carabinieri to reclaim some personal items stored in her vehicle, which had been seized a few days earlier by the military station of Orta di Atella. The woman showed up at the judicial deposit where her vehicle had been entrusted. The woman, who had already paid the fine for lack of insurance coverage, was accompanied to the deposit by the military where, while waiting to get her vehicle destined for scrapping, she started rummaging inside it. The Carabinieri of the operational and mobile radio core of the Marcianise company, who witnessed the recovery operations, noticed that the woman, after having taken a bullet from the passenger mat, tried to get rid of it by throwing it on the ground. After having her move away from the car, the military recovered the bullet and carried out a search, finding in the central console a single-row magazine with five 380 auto caliber bullets, while between the sky and the underside of the car's hood, they found a 9 short caliber pistol with rusted parts. The weapon and its ammunition were seized. The woman was taken to the barracks and reported in a state of freedom.
