Yellow Level Weather Alert in Campania for Sudden Rain and Storms

The Civil Protection of the Region, considering the evaluations of the Functional Center, has issued a Yellow level weather alert for sudden, rapid, and intense rains and storms valid from 12 pm tomorrow, Wednesday, May 1st, until 12 pm the day after tomorrow, Thursday, May 2nd, across all of Campania. The storm phenomena will be characterized by forecasting uncertainty and rapid evolution: they will gradually diminish starting from late evening tomorrow. There is also the possibility of lightning, hail, and gusts of wind. Attention must be paid to the hydrogeological risk: among the main consequences of the impact on the ground of the rains and storms are flooding, rising hydrographic levels of watercourses, water flow on roadways, runoff with material transport, falling rocks, and landslides. Due to possible hailstorms and gusts of wind, there may also be damage to temporary structures, public green spaces, and coverings. Municipalities are reminded to activate the Municipal Operational Centers (COC) and to implement all measures aimed at preventing, counteracting, and mitigating the forecasted phenomena, in line with their respective municipal civil protection plans, as well as to monitor the proper maintenance of public green spaces.
