Young Scientist from Teano Secures Second Place in Regional Natural Science Championships

His name is Mario Funaro, he is from Teano, attends the first year at the scientific high school "Foscolo" with a focus on Applied Sciences in Sparanise and has ranked second at the Regional Championships of Natural Sciences in Naples in the biennium category (first place for the triennium was Natalia Vacca from Liceo Umberto in Naples), earning direct access (along with the first-place winner from Nocera Inferiore) to the national finals to be held in May in Rome. Today, the results of the test held on Tuesday, March 26, in the university complex of Monte Sant'Angelo were made public. It was a tough selection considering the 140 competing students and the 34 participating schools from Campania. Satisfied, the principal of "Foscolo", Paolo Mesolella, assures there is a strong support group encouraging Mario for the final in the Capital. Niccolò Barra, Matteo Marotta, and Florin Nicolaita, the other three students who participated in the championships and also ranked well, will also be part of this group. "The student," says Antonio Croce, the teacher who accompanied him to the test with the technical assistant Francesco Salerno, "was very good because he had to study the entire biennium program, answering numerous questions on biology and genetics."
