Zoe Pia's Rite 2024: A Fusion of Improvised Music and Experimental Sounds

Elements drawn from Sardinian folk music, Sámi Joik, noise and electronic music, free improvised music, contemporary music, free jazz, and more. Clarinetist Zoe Pia thus presents the project "Rite 2024," a new creation based on improvised music in new forms, structures, and directions, scheduled for Tuesday, April 16 at 9:30 PM in Naples, the first of two appointments of experimental and improvisational music presented by Dissonanzen in collaboration with the Auditorium Novecento Napoli, a space for Neapolitan musical avant-garde, located at Via De Marinis 4. A specific focus on the world of improvisation that sees the Sardinian clarinetist joined by saxophonist Mats Gustafsson on a journey through previously unexplored soundscapes, where the richness of traditional culture meets the new creative languages of experimental music. Dissonanzen also presents on Tuesday, May 7 at 9:30 PM, again at the Auditorium Novecento Napoli, the Carolina Reapers Trio by Roberto Ottaviano. It is particularly significant that the thirty-first year of Dissonanzen's activities begins with two appointments dedicated to radical improvisation and avant-garde jazz, territories of choice for our collective, notes Ciro Longobardi, artistic director of the Dissonanzen association, highlighting how the presence of international level exponents coincides with the start of important collaborations with Fondazione Musica per Roma, Radio Altri/Suoni, and Auditorium Novecento Napoli.
