A 38-year-old man of Nigerian origin will face charges for receiving stolen goods and making false statements about his identity, after being stopped by the Carabinieri while driving a stolen car, during which he also provided false personal details. The man was stopped in Castel Volturno on Domiziana street at the 34.00 kilometer mark, while driving a Toyota Yaris reported stolen in 2021 to the Carabinieri station of Marano di Napoli, by the 69-year-old owner from San Paolo Bel Sito. During the check, when asked to provide identification, the 38-year-old showed the officers a color photo of a residence permit bearing a different name on his mobile phone. Subsequent checks, however, allowed the Carabinieri to ascertain his correct identity. The vehicle was seized pending its return to the rightful owner.
